They say any publicity is good publicity, but I’m sure Sonic would have been willing to sit this one out.

In this photo the massive explosion of a fertilizer plant in West, Texas can be seen in the background behind the Sonic Drive-In sign in West, Texas.

This deadly explosion could be seen as far North as Dallas.  Shockwaves were felt as far as Lancaster, Texas, a suburb of Dallas.  The explosion registered as a 2.1 earthquake and was picked up as far as Amarillo, Texas.

Wow What A Difference LED Colors Can Make

Creative Soul, in Watauga, TX, has a new sign … and boy does it draw attention!  Most signs are static, never changing.  They always portray the same picture of that store.  Sometimes it’s a good first impression, sometimes not.  But Creative Soul took it one step further!

This sign, by Signs Manufacturing, takes advantage of several different technologies.  The faces light up white with Signs Manufacturing’s SolarBright(TM) LEDs which are much brighter than a typical LED module.  That added brightness lets the letter also be back-lighted by standing the letter off of the background just a little more than an inch.  So the letters light out the front and have a “glow”.  But what really sets the sign apart is the backplate.

A black aluminum backplate is mounted a few inches off the wall and the lettering is installed to the front of the backplate.  Behind the plate is the color-changing magic.  These specialized LEDs are controlled by a hand-held remote control and have multiple pre-programmed “scenes” in addition to the standard color programs.  This allows the owner of Creative Soul to make a specialized storefront, unique to Northeast Texas.

Just wait until Valentine’s Day, St. Patrick’s Day or July 4th.  The sign will be customized to celebrate the occasion.

NBC DFW Story Shows Signs Manufacturing’s Sign in the Background

Is every type of publicity good publicity?  This story on Dallas/Ft. Worth’s NBC site shows one of Signs Manufacturing’s newest signs, Creative Soul.  This is a beautiful channel letter sign with color changing LEDs behind the backpanel, making a very memorable sign.  Unfortunately, the news article didn’t catch it at night!

Spectacles West in Weatherford, TX Gets a New Sign

Spectacles West had two new signs designed, built and installed by Signs Manufacturing for their location in Weatherford, TX.

These signs take advantage of face-lighting as well as day/night vinyl graphic overlays to create a unique look for the business.  Here’s what Spectacles West has to say about their new sign:

“I just wanted to write and say thank you for a job well done.  We purchased 2 business signs from you in January.  Joe helped us and he was great.  We just had neighbors move into our strip center, and their sign went up last week, three weeks late. They paid a lot less than we did.  Their letters are crooked and not all the matching letters are the same size, the rail doesn’t match the building, etc.  We love our signs even more now.  Thank you for creating what you said you would, and delivering it when you said you would.  If we ever need more signs, we will be calling you first!
