DFW ranks fourth among the nation’s top moving destination, according to a Penske survey.
Dallas-Fort Worth is ranked No. 4 on Penske Truck Rental’s annual survey of the nation’s top 10 moving destinations for the year — following Atlanta, Phoenix and Orlando.
The list from Penske was compiled from online consumer truck rental reservations and through the moving Penske call centers.
The number of rental requests match similar information from the U.S. Census Bureau that reports that the populations in the Sun Belt states are continuing to rise, said Don Mikes, vice president of rental for Penske.
Last year, Penske Truck Rental saw tens of thousands of consumer truck rental requests for these top 10 destinations. According to the U.S. Census Bureau as many as 38 million people moved in 2009, and their research shows Sun Belt states continue to show a rise in population.
Other cities rounding out the top 10 include Chicago, Houston, Denver, Seattle, Sarasota, Fla. and Charlotte, N.C.
