Plastic Sign Faces for Channel LettersModern Unbreakable Space-age Plastics–Signs that Don’t Age™Signs Manufacturing™ manufactures its own plastic components using new, modern, unbreakable space-age plastics we call SignFace™ protected by full 1" Jewelite® trim-cap, the best plastics available, with no additional charges.
Importantly, virtually all the other translucent plastics used by sign companies have a major flaw; microscopic fissures that form in their casting (manufacturing) process can and do lead to cracking as these plastics age and turn brittle. Even Lexan®, the best polycarbonate available, doesn’t compare! SignFace™ has a higher impact resistance than all acrylics, even polycarbonates and Lexan®, is also flame-retardant unlike virtually all other sign face materials, and does not yellow with age like polycarbonate faces do. We call this break-through material SignFace™ because we don’t want to tell our competition what we’ve discovered. Most competitors couldn’t afford the minimum order requirement to obtain this spectacular material though. Once again, size matters! When we manufacture “Reverse” channel letters, those with metal faces and sides where the neon shines out the back of the letter and illuminates the wall, we install clear face plastic as “Bird Shields” behind each letter to keep birds from nesting in the letter cavity. This is required by Underwriters Laboratories (U.L.) because it prevents fires. It also keeps the sign from having an ugly appearance.
Multiple plastic components (the faces and trim as an example) are chemically welded together for structural integrity. Trim-cap (the plastic trim that holds the plastic letter face to the sides of the letter) is patterned by CNC computer driven machinery we conceived so that it EXACTLY fits the letter face. Hydraulic formers bend the trim-cap so that it is precisely plumb, and most importantly the strength of the hydraulic former works without having to cut notches in the trim-cap to weaken it for bending by hand, the accepted practice until now. Signs Manufacturing™ is the first company in THE WORLD to automate trim-cap forming! Living in an area with hail and high winds you will be very glad we manufactured your signs this way! You see so many channel letter signs where a single letter face has been replaced, making the entire sign, and the business, appear cheap! Sign faces that don’t fade or “yellow” for years is a step in the right direction, but your sign needs to look nearly as good 10 to 15 years from now as it looks the day it is installed; or you need to plan to replace it often so that your potential customers do not get the wrong impression of your business. The longevity and appearance of plastic face materials and graphics are extended when they are coated with SolarGuard™, a special, clear, high-gloss, mar-resistant topcoat which protects plastics from ultraviolet light and ozone so that they last longer, just like your eyeglasses have UV coatings to protect the plastic lens. Just as coated lenses in binoculars increase the light gathering ability of the lens, the special Lumabrite™ crystal clear coatings we use increase the brightness of our channel letters. Also, Lumabrite™ reduces maintenance because of built-in self-cleaning properties. As an added bonus Lumabrite™ also makes the letter faces more reflective when the sign is not lighted!

the brand and name of paint (example: PMS 183 or Sherwin-Williams Ruby Red, and
we will obtain a mixing formula free of charge. Our customer can also select
exact colors from our 35,000+ color samples at no additional charge.
Alternatively, our customer can provide an actual sample, 3” square minimum, of
their color selections and we will run them through an exact color matching
process. Exact color matching from a color sample incurs an additional charge,
however.

more durable than all-plastic imitators, some of which are only ľ”. Visit us
and see them both. This metal edge is very important in protecting the plastic
sign face from edge damage.
Our
plastic sign faces are warrantied not to break. This is a transferrable
15-year warranty.*
