If you wonder whether a sign-seller can legally install and service electrical signs in Texas, visit the TDLR Website. Enter "Electricians” in the "Inquire by License Type” box and the name of the sign business. If they are not licensed, they cannot perform the work.

Someone can sell you signs but not be licensed to install or service them. Unless the electrical signs are UL-listed or ETL-listed, they cannot be legally installed in Texas under state consumer protection safety laws. Some city ordinances have exceptions, but beware: buying unlisted signs can create legal and safety problems.

The State of Texas does NOT allow the installation of non-listed electrical signs. A Texas Sign Contractors License (TSCL) alone is not evidence of OSHA-approved listing. Additional approvals are required — which a true Prosper sign company like Signs Manufacturing™ provides.
